The Welcome:

A warm hug and the offer of a delicious Chai tea on arrival coming in from a damp and blustery day, was the beginning of a wonderful afternoon taking in all things COS at the COS Press Preview for their SS16 Collection. Delightful.

The Overview:

Celebrating Essentials and Reinterpreting Calm at COS This Season.

The Collection:

Women’s wear is treated to a theme of reduction and reinvention in a palette of blush, cream and sandstone hues. A pared back naturalistic approach to the collection sees the company highlighting an evident organic, effortless and functional appeal – sure to make this collection a stand-out for the pretty, practical and chic lovers amongst us!

Elegance simply abounds in this collection…

Organic Oragami Approach.

A stand-out piece for me was the pearl linen silk shirt, falling in folds that elegantly drape around the neckline.

Back to Basics: Nude Rules.

Sandstone hues take inspiration from the organic shapes of sand dunes seen in Renate Aller’s photographs and results in garments organiclly structured and delivered with a calming influence.

With a firm focus on a reduction in details, and the use of luxurious fabrics such as silk, the collection is simply stunning.
Neutrals in summer are always in style.

Raw Denim:

The collection sees denim celebrated for it’s functionality, desirability and simplicity. Denim is set to be a HUGE trend this SS16 and is layered throughout the collection right down to the accessories!

The Accessories:

Knotted leather sandals in grey or white.

Angular, metallic jewellery featuring details such as compressed, recycled denim adds another contemporary twist to the collection.

{I love this angular take on the jewellery, this piece in particular!}

Menswear:

Tailoring, fresh silhouettes, car coats and boat necks feature strongly in the Menswear Collection for summer.

The overall vibe to this press event was sheer elegance complimented by a chic and minimal approach to the presentation, perfectly complimenting the brand. I am looking forward to picking up a a couple of pieces from this collection and incorporating them seamlessly into my wardrobe capsule collection.

This was one of my favourite press events that I have attended. I cannot get over the overall attention to detail. From the presentation of the collection calmly and eloquently communicated by the PR representatives for the company, the aesthetics of the show place adding an almost ethereal feel to the event, to the welcome spread of a selection of teas and nibbles laid out, complimented with a seating area.

A calm, cool and chic presentation – to be honest I expect nothing less from COS.

The collection is rolling out in-store from February – so not long now to wait!

Thank you to Baluba for the invitation and the Kerlin Gallery.

Fashion in Ireland: Grape and Gander Launch – Ireland’s First LUXURY Sportswear Brand!

Grape and Gander Clothing Launch -Ireland's first Luxury Sportswear brand 10 St. Stephens Green, Dublin

Last Thursday saw me attend not one, but two events back to back on the same night. I love nights like this, the energy is high, the atmosphere at events highly charged and positively brimming with excitement!

My second event of the night was the Grape and Gander Clothing Launch – Ireland’s first luxury sportswear range from up and coming Irish Designers Aoife Connolly and Grace O’Rourke, creators and founders of the label. The addition of a luxury sportswear range to the Irish Fashion spectrum, defintiely warrented a celebration!

The Designers:

Meet:

Aoife Connolly and Grace O’Rourke co-founders at the helm of Grape and Gander, who fused their interests in fashion and fitness respectively, to design a women’s luxury sportswear line of clothing focused on comfort and practicality, with a stylish flair.

Influences:

Aoife’s time working for award winning British designer Stella McCartney and abundant interest in Yoga coupled with Grace’s love of fitness, having studied Sports and Exercise Science meshed well and the girls came up with the concept for Grape and Gander.

The Official Launch of SLEEK Make-up in Ireland….well if it’s good enough for Eva Longoria!

image

The Event:

I was thrilled to have received an invite last week to the Official Launch of Sleek Make-up in Ireland. A brand I’ve long admired (due to the rave reviews), but actually never tried as I had always found it hard to get my hands on! Not anymore though, as Sleek Makeup is now readily available throughout Ireland, and with amazing endorsement of the brand’s quality from the always immaculately turned out Eva Longoria, I’m looking forward to being impressed!

The Location:

The über cool Dean Hotel, Dublin. A fabulously trendy hotel with tables that re-charge your phone whilst you sip on your beverage of choice in the lobby area. #amazeballs

The event was beautifully presented with a gorgeously girly ambiance of twinkling tealights, candy coloured flowers and macaroons all pulled together with massive pink and white balloons, dotted around the room.

The Products:

When the event started to wind down and the blogger possë began to dwindle, we were kindly gifted with a fantastic goody bag on the way out.

I’ve got to say, we were spoilt with the goodie bag we received! A fab selection of products to really get a feel for the brand, across the board. Being a newbie to Sleek Makeup, I’m excited to experiment with these bad boys!

The glorious view of Dublin’s Georgian architecture from the Blue Room in the Dean Hotel.

A stunningly organised event, which gave me the chance to not only preview the latest Sleek Makeup products but to catch up with some old blogger buds and meet some new faces in the Beauty Bloggersphere!

Tell me, have any of you tried Sleek Makeup before? If so what are your favourite products and what do I need to try?

Huge thanks to Sleek Makeup and The Publicity Loft for having me!

Thanks for stopping by guys!
